Tour Transfer runs a chauffeur service in Sharjah with pickups inside the emirate, not only from Dubai. We meet flights at Sharjah International Airport (SHJ), hire out a car with driver by the hour or day, and drive the Sharjah–Dubai commute both ways. You choose the car, from an E-Class to a GMC Yukon or V-Class, and pay one fixed price with fuel, Salik and VAT included.

Sharjah sits inside our chauffeur service across the UAE: one WhatsApp booking, whichever side of the border you start on. Most bookings here are airport runs, Dubai office workers who live in Sharjah, and visitors going to Expo Centre Sharjah, the universities or family in Al Nahda and Al Khan.

Sharjah Airport (SHJ) pickups

Sharjah International Airport has one passenger terminal, about 13 km east-southeast of the city centre. The airport has a dedicated meet and greet area in arrivals, and that’s where your chauffeur waits with a name board.

Here’s what happens after you land:

  1. We’ve tracked the flight, so the chauffeur is in arrivals when you come through, early or late.
  2. The first 45–60 minutes after landing are free, which covers immigration and bags on a normal day.
  3. The chauffeur takes your luggage to the car in the terminal car park, a short walk away. Parking is in our price.
  4. You go straight to your address in Sharjah, Dubai or further.

A metered taxi from SHJ adds a fixed AED 20 airport surcharge to every trip. For a family with luggage, a booked SUV or V-Class also saves the wait at the taxi rank.

How long does it take from Dubai to Sharjah by car?

Outside rush hour, central Dubai to central Sharjah is about 25–35 minutes for roughly 20–30 km. At rush hour it can take an hour or more. RTA figures reported in June 2026 put the traffic between the two emirates at around 1.2 million vehicles a day, on just five road corridors.

The pattern is predictable, which helps:

Direction and timeWhat to expect
Sharjah to Dubai, weekday mornings from about 7:30 a.m.The heaviest traffic of the day, on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311) and Al Ittihad Road (E11), around Al Nahda, Al Khan and Al Qusais
Dubai to Sharjah, weekday eveningsThe same roads, reversed, as commuters head home
Mid-morning and early afternoonThe easiest window for airport runs and meetings
Late eveningUsually light

The main roads between the two emirates:

Al Ittihad Road (E11)

the direct coastal route from Deira into Al Nahda, Al Khan and Al Majaz. It passes the Al Mamzar North and South Salik gates; going through both in the same direction within an hour is charged once.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (E311)

the inland route, carrying about a third of the lanes between the emirates. Better for Aljada, University City and SHJ.

Emirates Road (E611)

further inland again. Useful when you’re heading on to the northern emirates or the east coast.

Roadworks change the picture too. In September 2026, Al Taawun Street was partly closed for the Al Taawun Tunnel project, which slows the approach to Expo Centre Sharjah. Our chauffeurs check the live route before every pickup. For more on the drive itself, read Dubai to Sharjah by car.

Rent a car with driver in Sharjah: hourly, daily and monthly

Hourly hire is the better deal when you have more than two stops. The car waits outside each one, your bags stay in the boot, and you don’t queue at a taxi rank in the heat.

For market context, rate cards published by Dubai chauffeur companies in September 2026 show AED 90–120 per hour for a business sedan, AED 500–850 for five hours and AED 600–1,300 for ten. Large SUVs run AED 1,300–2,000 a day. Our Dubai–Sharjah transfer prices sit in the rate table on this page; hourly hire in Sharjah is quoted on the same basis as Dubai.

When it’s worth it over a taxi:

Cross-border trips

Dubai taxis add AED 20 when a trip passes through Sharjah, and Sharjah taxis add AED 20 to and from Dubai. A fixed transfer price has no border charge on top.

Rush hour

a meter keeps running in the 7:30 a.m. queue on the E311. A fixed price doesn’t.

Several stops

a university visit, a meeting in Al Majaz and lunch in Al Khan cost one hourly booking, not three fares.

Daily commutes

a monthly chauffeur service gives you the same driver every morning at a fixed monthly price.

What visitors should know about Sharjah

Sharjah is more conservative than Dubai. None of it affects your booking, but it’s worth knowing before you go.

No alcohol

drinking or possessing alcohol is illegal in Sharjah, and it isn’t served in hotels or restaurants. Don’t carry bottles through the emirate in the car.

Dress

Sharjah has the strictest public decency rules in the UAE. Cover shoulders and knees in malls, souks and public places.

No road tolls

there are no toll gates for cars in Sharjah. Salik only applies on the Dubai side.

Souks and malls

the chauffeur drops you at the entrance and waits nearby, so you don’t spend the evening looking for a parking space.

Limousine service in Sharjah

For weddings, graduations and family celebrations, we bring the same cars we run in Dubai. A Rolls-Royce Ghost or Phantom for the couple, an Escalade or Hummer stretch limousine for 8 to 14 guests, and SUVs or V-Class vans for family. Hourly hire has a three-hour minimum. See limousine service in Dubai for the full range and how bookings work.

Chauffeur Service in Sharjah: frequently asked questions

Yes, in one of our cars. You book the car and chauffeur for a set time, anything from three hours to a full month, and go wherever you like in Sharjah or across into Dubai during it. We don’t send drivers for privately owned cars.

Going by September 2026 market rate cards, expect AED 90–120 an hour for a business sedan and chauffeur, or AED 600–1,300 for ten hours. Our own Dubai–Sharjah prices, with fuel, Salik, parking and VAT built in, are listed in the rate table on this page.

Yes. The chauffeur tracks your flight, waits in the SHJ arrivals meet and greet area with a name board and takes you to any address in Sharjah, Dubai or another emirate. Waiting of 45–60 minutes after landing is free.

For one person outside rush hour, a taxi usually costs less. Once you add the AED 20 cross-border charge, the SHJ airport surcharge, rush-hour waiting on the meter and a second car for luggage, a fixed-price chauffeur often comes close, and you get a better car.

In the Dubai market, a full day in a Rolls-Royce Ghost is around AED 5,000 and a stretch limousine AED 399–799 per hour (published rate cards, September 2026). A Sharjah booking is priced the same way, and the drive over from Dubai is part of the quote.

On a weekday, leave before 7 a.m. if you can. The morning jam towards Dubai builds from about 7:30 a.m. on the E311 and Al Ittihad Road. We set the pickup time with you when you book.
