Tour Transfer runs a chauffeur service in Abu Dhabi for people who work there: a car with driver by the hour (three-hour minimum), by the full day, or on a monthly contract. The chauffeur picks you up inside Abu Dhabi, waits between meetings and takes you back to your hotel, to Zayed International Airport or to Dubai. One fixed price covers the car, the chauffeur, fuel, tolls, parking and VAT.

This page is about the working side of Abu Dhabi: bankers going between ADGM on Al Maryah Island and client offices, exhibitors staying a week for a show at ADNEC, and teams that split their week between the capital and Dubai. It’s part of our chauffeur service across the UAE, with the same cars and the same booking on WhatsApp. If your trip is an airport arrival, a hotel stay or a wedding, the limousine service in Abu Dhabi page is the better fit.

How much does it cost to hire a driver in Abu Dhabi?

Expect roughly AED 90–120 per hour for a business sedan and driver, AED 500–850 for five hours or AED 600–1,300 for a ten-hour day. Those figures come from published Dubai rate cards (September 2026). An Abu Dhabi operator’s card we checked the same month sat in the same bands. Our own rates are in the table on this page.

Vehicle classTypical market rate (published rate cards, Sept 2026)Good for
Business sedan (E-Class, Lexus ES, BMW 5 Series)AED 90–120/hour; AED 600–1,300 full dayOne or two people, meetings across the city
First-class sedan (S-Class, BMW 7 Series)AED 1,400–2,500 full dayBoard members, visiting executives
Large SUV (GMC Yukon, Escalade, Suburban)AED 1,300–2,000 full dayThree to six people or site visits
Luxury van (Mercedes V-Class)AED 1,400–1,600 full dayDelegations, teams with samples or luggage

Hours and car class set most of the price. A run to or from Dubai adds to it: a full day that starts in Dubai Marina and ends in Abu Dhabi costs more than the same ten hours spent inside the capital, because the car still has to get back.

Rent a car with driver in Abu Dhabi: how hourly and full-day hire works

You book a block of time, not a set of trips. The car is yours for those hours, the chauffeur goes where you say, and there is no meter.

Hourly, three-hour minimum

enough for a meeting on Al Maryah Island, lunch on the Corniche and a drop at the airport.

Half day, five hours

a morning of client visits, or an afternoon at ADNEC with a hotel pickup and return.

Full day, ten hours

the usual choice for a day of back-to-back meetings or a Dubai and Abu Dhabi round trip.

Extra hours

if a meeting runs long, the chauffeur waits and the extra time is added at the hourly rate. You don’t rebook.

Here’s what a typical full day looks like for a visiting executive. Times are an example, not a promise of traffic.

TimeStopWhat the chauffeur does
08:00Hotel pickup, Al Reem IslandAt the lobby ten minutes early, route checked
08:20ADGM, Al Maryah IslandDrops at the tower entrance, parks close by
11:30Government office meeting, city centreWaits in the car or nearby, reachable by phone
13:00Lunch on the CornicheCollects you at the door
15:00ADNEC, Khaleej Al Arabi StreetDrops at the hall entrance, holds the car
18:00Zayed International Airport or back to DubaiYour luggage has been in the boot since checkout

Your bags stay in the car all day, so you can check out at 8 a.m. and fly out at night without going back to the hotel.

Chauffeur service for ADGM, government meetings and ADNEC

Abu Dhabi’s business day is spread across islands. A driver who knows which bridge, which gate and which entrance saves you more time than a faster car.

ADGM and Al Maryah Island

Abu Dhabi Global Market, the financial free zone, sits on Al Maryah Island next to The Galleria mall. The towers sit close together, and the chauffeur drops you at the right entrance.

Al Reem Island

apartments and offices right across the water from Al Maryah. ADGM’s jurisdiction was extended to Al Reem in 2023, so many firms and visitors are based here and the morning drive is short.

Government and ministry meetings

government buildings usually have a security check at the gate and little visitor parking. Bring your ID and appointment details; the chauffeur drops at the visitor entrance and waits nearby.

ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi

the exhibition centre on Khaleej Al Arabi Street, which ADNEC puts at 15 minutes’ drive from AUH. On big show days the approach gets busy in the morning, so we set pickup times with that in mind.

Masdar City and Khalifa City

on the mainland next to the airport. Masdar City is home to IRENA’s headquarters. Easy to pair with an AUH flight at the end of the day.

Mussafah and the industrial areas

for site visits and supplier meetings. An SUV is the sensible choice here.

For company accounts with monthly invoicing, see our corporate chauffeur service. The same account works for bookings in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Delegations and multi-car days

A delegation isn’t one booking repeated. It’s cars that leave together, arrive together and don’t lose anyone at the hotel door.

For a visiting group, we usually pair a first-class sedan or SUV for the principal with a Mercedes V-Class for the team and a second vehicle for luggage, samples or display material. One contact on our side holds the schedule, stays in touch with every chauffeur and tells them when a meeting overruns. You send one message to change the plan, not five.

Before the day, send us the guest list with arrival flights, hotels and the meeting schedule. We build a running order with pickup times, which car each guest rides in and where each car waits. For more on planning group movements, read our guide to delegation and VIP visitor transport.

We don’t provide security escorts or close protection. If your delegation has its own security team, the chauffeurs work to their instructions on timing and routes.

Monthly driver in Abu Dhabi

A monthly contract gives you the same chauffeur and the same class of car every working day, on one invoice. It suits executives on assignment, families who’ve just moved and companies that would rather not buy, insure and staff a car.

Same chauffeur daily

your chauffeur learns your office, your children’s school run and where you like to be dropped.

Agreed hours

set working days and hours, with extra time billed at an agreed rate.

Fuel, tolls and parking

covered in the monthly price, so there are no receipts to chase.

One monthly invoice

VAT invoice, with bank transfer for corporate accounts.

Monthly terms, packages and what’s included are set out on the monthly chauffeur service page. The same terms apply in Abu Dhabi.

Travel between Abu Dhabi and Dubai offices

If you work in both cities in the same week, the drive between them is about 1 to 1.5 hours door to door, and a chauffeur turns it into working time: calls, email, a document you didn’t finish.

Two ways to book it:

  1. One-way transfer: a fixed price from your door in Dubai to your meeting in Abu Dhabi, or the reverse. Book the return separately when you know your finish time. See Dubai to Abu Dhabi private transfer.
  2. Full day with the car: the chauffeur collects you in Dubai, stays with you in Abu Dhabi and brings you back. Worth it when you have three or more stops, or when you don’t know when the last meeting ends.

Take a DIFC-to-ADGM day. For a 9 a.m. meeting on Al Maryah Island, we’d collect you in DIFC by 7 a.m.; Dubai’s morning peak runs from 6 to 10 a.m., the hours Salik charges its peak rate.

Car with driver vs self-drive rental vs taxi in Abu Dhabi

Can you hire a driver to drive you around Abu Dhabi? Yes, with a car from our fleet and a chauffeur who stays with you. We don’t supply drivers for your own car. Here’s how the options compare for a working day.
