A GMC Yukon Denali with chauffeur moves six passengers and four large suitcases around Dubai in one car. When people ask us for “a GMC with driver”, this is usually the car they mean. Denali is GMC’s luxury trim for the Yukon, with a 6.2-litre V8, leather throughout and the same General Motors platform as the Cadillac Escalade.
It’s the SUV we’d put a family of five in from DXB, or a team of four heading to meetings in Abu Dhabi with bags in the back. What is a GMC Yukon Denali like as a passenger?
Tall, quiet and roomy in the first two rows. You step up into it, which most adults find easier on the back than folding into a low sedan, and hotel porters can load the boot without anyone waiting in the heat. GMC lists the Denali at up to seven occupants with captain’s chairs in the middle row. With a chauffeur in one seat, that’s six passengers, which is exactly how we book it.
The middle row has the legroom. The third row suits children, teenagers or adults on shorter trips, and getting there means a step past the middle seats, so load the back first.
Luggage is where people misjudge it. With all six passenger seats in use, the boot behind the third row takes four large cases and some soft bags. Drop to four passengers and part of the third row folds, which opens up far more space. GMC also builds a longer Yukon XL, the same size as the Chevrolet Suburban; for seven people or five big cases, book the Suburban instead.
At motorway speed the V8 is barely audible and the ride stays settled over the joints on Sheikh Zayed Road. That matters on a Dubai to Abu Dhabi run, when you want to work or sleep. Bottled water and Wi-Fi come as standard.

Yukon Denali or Escalade: what's the difference?
The Yukon Denali and the Escalade share a platform, a V8 and, in our bookings, the same limit of six passengers and four cases. The Escalade adds a more dramatic cabin with bigger screens and a front end people recognise at a hotel door. If you need the space and not the show, book the Yukon.

For a VIP arrival, the Cadillac Escalade is the upgrade. For six people who’d rather walk into the cabin than climb, a Mercedes V-Class van does the same job through sliding doors.

Yes. GMC lists the Yukon Denali at up to seven occupants, with two captain’s chairs in the middle row and a bench at the back. One of those seats is the chauffeur’s, so we book it for six passengers. For seven passengers, book the Chevrolet Suburban, which Chevrolet builds with up to nine seats.

Six adults and four large cases, yes. Six adults with six cases won’t fit comfortably, so book the Suburban or add a second car for the bags. Abu Dhabi transfers are priced as a fixed route. On multi-stop days, published rate cards add about AED 125–200 for each extra emirate.
