A private Dubai city tour by car is a chauffeur-driven car hired by the hour that takes you from sight to sight on your own schedule. You pick the stops and how long you stay. The chauffeur drives, parks, and waits with the car. Most visitors book five hours for one side of the city, or eight to ten hours for old and new Dubai in a single day.

It runs on our car with driver by the hour service: a three-hour minimum, one fixed price, and fuel, Salik tolls, parking and VAT included. Our chauffeurs know the city, the drop-off points and the traffic. They are drivers, not tour guides, so if you want a historian walking you through the souks, book a guide separately and we’ll carry them too.

How much does a private city tour of Dubai cost?

A private Dubai city tour costs whatever the car costs for the hours you keep it, plus your own entry tickets. Published Dubai rate cards (September 2026) put a business sedan with driver at about AED 90–120 an hour, AED 500–850 for a half day and AED 600–1,300 for a ten-hour day. A large SUV runs about AED 1,300–2,000 a day and a Mercedes V-Class AED 1,400–1,600.

Our own hourly, half-day and full-day rates are in the rate table on this page. There is no per-stop charge and no extra for waiting between sights: the car is yours for the booked hours.

Sample itinerary 1: Old Dubai in five hours

This is the Dubai that existed before the towers: the Creek, the wind-tower houses and the trading souks. Start early. The lanes are cooler in the morning, and some souk shops shut for a few hours in the afternoon.

TimeStopNotes
9:00Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood (Al Bastakiya), Bur DubaiWind-tower houses, galleries, the Coffee Museum and the Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding
10:30Abra across Dubai CreekBur Dubai Abra Station to Deira Old Souq Abra Station, AED 1 per person, cash. The chauffeur drives round and meets you on the Deira side
10:45Spice Souk and Gold Souk, DeiraThe two souks sit next to each other. Allow an hour, more if you’re buying gold
12:15Al Shindagha MuseumDubai Culture’s open-air heritage museum at the mouth of the Creek, open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
13:30Dubai Frame, Zabeel Park (optional)Open 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.; entrance at Zabeel Park Gate 4

Al Fahidi Fort, Dubai’s oldest building and the former Dubai Museum, has been closed for restoration since 2021. Its reopening had been announced but not dated as of September 2026, so treat it as a bonus rather than the reason for the trip.

Sample itinerary 2: Modern Dubai in eight hours

The skyline day. Run it west to east so you finish in Downtown for the Burj Khalifa at sunset and the fountain after dark.

TimeStopNotes
11:00Dubai Marina and JBRWalk the Marina promenade and The Walk at JBR while the chauffeur waits nearby
12:15Palm JumeirahDrive the trunk to Atlantis The Palm on the crescent for the photo stop back toward the skyline
13:30Madinat Jumeirah and Burj Al ArabLunch in the souk, with the Burj Al Arab view from the waterways
15:00Jumeirah Mosque (Saturday to Thursday)Guided public visits at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., AED 55, no booking needed. Swap it into the morning if you want the tour
15:45Museum of the Future, Sheikh Zayed RoadExterior photo stop. The museum closed in September 2026 for new exhibitions and plans to reopen in the first quarter of 2027
16:30Burj Khalifa, At the TopLevels 124 and 125. Tickets are for a set date and time, so book a slot near sunset in advance
18:00Dubai Mall and the Dubai FountainEvening shows every 30 minutes from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Agree the evening pickup point with your chauffeur before you go up the tower. Downtown Dubai fills up after dark, and a fixed meeting point saves a lot of phone calls.

Sample itinerary 3: Abu Dhabi city tour from Dubai

A full day, nine to ten hours. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is about 130 km from central Dubai, roughly 90 minutes to two hours by car depending on where you start and the traffic on the way out. Book it through our Dubai to Abu Dhabi chauffeur service as an hourly day.

TimeStopNotes
8:30Leave DubaiPickup from your hotel or home
10:15Sheikh Zayed Grand MosqueBook the online access pass on the mosque’s official site before you go. Long, loose clothes to the ankle for everyone; women wear a headscarf
12:30Qasr Al WatanThe presidential palace, open to visitors. Check the day’s hours before you go, as it’s a working palace
14:00Lunch and the CornicheDrive past Emirates Palace and along the waterfront
15:30Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat IslandClosed on Mondays
18:00Return to DubaiOr stop at Yas Island on the way back

On Fridays the mosque closes to visitors from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for prayers, so start at 9 a.m. or move the mosque to the afternoon.

Timing and traffic tips from our chauffeurs

Avoid crossing the city at rush hour

Salik charges its peak toll from 6 to 10 a.m. and 4 to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and those are the hours the main roads are slowest too. Plan to be inside an attraction, not on Sheikh Zayed Road, at 5:30 p.m.

Book timed tickets first

sunset slots at the Burj Khalifa are the most asked-for. Fix the ticket time, then build the day around it.

Save the desert for another day

an evening desert camp needs its own afternoon. Book it as a separate private desert safari transfer.

Watch Fridays

Jumeirah Mosque is closed to visitors, and the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi pauses visits over midday prayers.

Do outdoor stops early or late

from May to September, keep the souks, the abra and the promenades to the morning or after 5 p.m. and use the middle of the day for museums and malls.

Which car for a sightseeing day?

Pick the car for how many of you there are, then for comfort. You’ll be getting in and out eight or ten times, so a higher seat helps.

GroupCarWhy
Couple or soloMercedes E-Class or S-ClassQuiet, easy to step in and out of at every stop
Family of four to sixGMC Yukon Denali or Cadillac EscaladeRoom for shopping bags and a child seat
Group of up to sevenMercedes V-Class or Hyundai StariaSliding doors and facing seats; see van rental with driver

If you’d rather keep the same chauffeur for several days of sightseeing, ask about a private driver in Dubai for your whole stay.

Private Dubai City Tour with Chauffeur: frequently asked questions

With a private car, you pay by the hour. Published Dubai rate cards put a business sedan with driver at AED 500–850 for a half day and AED 600–1,300 for a full ten-hour day, before attraction tickets. Our rates are in the table on this page, with fuel, Salik and parking included.

For sightseeing, expect about AED 90–120 an hour for a business sedan with chauffeur across published Dubai rate cards (September 2026), with a three-hour minimum on our bookings. An S-Class day runs about AED 1,400–2,500.

A private tour is worth it if you have one or two days and want to see both old and new Dubai without queuing for taxis between stops. The distances are long: Deira to Dubai Marina is a cross-city drive. A bus tour is cheaper per person but runs to its timetable, not yours.

For a first visit, combine old Dubai in the morning (Al Fahidi, the abra and the Deira souks) with Downtown in the evening (Burj Khalifa and the fountain). That covers the city’s history and its skyline in one day. Add Abu Dhabi as a second day.

Yes. Book a car with chauffeur for a full day of ten hours, or by the hour with a three-hour minimum. The chauffeur stays with you all day, waits at each stop and drives wherever you want to go inside Dubai, or on to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
