To rent a car with driver in Dubai, you book a chauffeur-driven car for a set time (by the hour, half day, full day, several days or a month) instead of driving yourself. Car rental with driver, car hire with driver and “car with driver” all mean the same booking: our car, our professional driver, your schedule. With Tour Transfer the minimum is three hours, the chauffeur stays with the car for the whole booking, and one fixed price covers fuel, Salik tolls, parking and 5% VAT. You don’t need a licence, a deposit or insurance.

It’s the flexible side of our chauffeur service in Dubai: the car is yours for the booked hours, and you decide where it goes. Across published Dubai rate cards (September 2026), a business sedan with driver costs about AED 90–120 an hour. Our own rates by car class are in the table below. For a single airport run, a fixed-price airport transfer is cheaper than hourly hire.

How does car rental with driver work in Dubai?

You tell us the start time, pickup address, how long you need the car and roughly what the day looks like. We quote one price for the car class you want. On the day, the chauffeur arrives at your pickup before the booked time and the car is at your disposal until the booking ends.

Within those hours the car goes where you tell it. Add a stop, skip one, wait outside a meeting that runs long, change the dinner reservation: none of it changes the price as long as you’re inside your booked time. The industry calls this “as directed” hire.

Three rules keep it simple:

  1. Time, not kilometres. Inside Dubai, hourly and daily hire is priced by time. There’s no meter running.
  2. Extra hours at the hourly rate. If the day runs over, the chauffeur carries on and the extra time is billed at the hourly rate for your car class. Extending is easiest when you tell us early.
  3. Leaving Dubai is priced in. If the day includes Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or another emirate, say so when you book and the route goes into the quote.

Hourly, half day, full day, multi-day or monthly

Match the booking to the day you actually have. When you’re unsure, book the shorter block and extend on the day if the car is free; that beats paying for hours you don’t use.

Multi-dayA full or half day, each dayVisiting executives, family holidays, roadshowsSame chauffeur across the days where the roster allows

A full day with driver in Dubai is 10 hours from the pickup time, not a calendar day. If you need the car from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., that’s a full day plus four extra hours, or two shorter bookings with a gap in the afternoon. We’ll suggest whichever costs less.

What's included when you rent a car with driver

Everything needed to run the booking is inside the quoted price.

The chauffeur

suited, English-speaking, and briefed on your addresses and timings before pickup.

The car you booked

the class named in your confirmation, late-model, cleaned and checked before the job.

Fuel

for the whole booking. No fuel surcharge at the end of the day.

Salik tolls

every gate you pass. Salik is AED 6.30 per crossing at peak times and AED 4.20 off-peak, VAT included; you never see it.

Airport parking and waiting

the chauffeur parks and meets you in arrivals with a name board, with 45–60 minutes free after landing.

5% VAT, water and Wi-Fi

VAT is included, with bottled water and Wi-Fi in every car. No surge pricing and no night surcharge.

Which car should you rent with a driver? Luxury car rental options

Choose by headcount and luggage first. A sedan takes three passengers and two large cases. Four people with luggage need an SUV or a van, whatever the brochure says about “up to four passengers”.

For a luxury car with driver in Dubai, the S-Class is the everyday choice: quiet, reclining rear seats, and it looks right outside any hotel or office. Rolls-Royce and Bentley are for occasions. For groups of up to seven, see van rental with driver. The full list, with photos, is on the fleet page.

Car rental with driver vs self-drive car rental in Dubai

Self-drive looks cheaper on the rental company’s website. The daily rate is only the start, though. Here’s what changes when someone else holds the keys:

Car with driverSelf-drive rental
Driving licenceNot neededRequired; many visitors also need an International Driving Permit
DepositNoneHeld on your card; can take up to 30 days to come back
InsuranceOursYours, with an excess to pay if the car is damaged
Salik tollsIncludedCharged to you later, often with a per-crossing fee added
Traffic and parking finesNot your problemCharged to your card, sometimes weeks after you fly home
FuelIncludedYou refuel before returning
ParkingThe chauffeur waits or circlesYou find a space and pay for it
Wine with dinnerNo problem; you’re not drivingZero tolerance: any alcohol and you can’t drive

Licence and permits

Visitors from some countries can drive a rental car on their home licence. Many others need an International Driving Permit as well, and it has to be issued in the country that issued the licence: you can’t get one after you land. With a car and driver, none of this applies.

Deposit, insurance and fines

Rental companies block a deposit on your card to cover fines and tolls that reach them after you’ve returned the car. Under Dubai’s consumer rules it should come back within 30 days. If the car is damaged, the rental firm’s insurance pays only after you’ve paid the excess. Salik and traffic fines are passed on to you, usually with an admin fee on top.

Parking and time

Dubai Mall on a Friday evening, a hotel lobby in Downtown, a beach club on the Palm: finding a space takes time, and paid parking zones cover much of the city. A chauffeur drops you at the door and collects you from the same spot.

Our honest view: if you’re a confident driver with an accepted licence and want a car for a week of beach days and long drives, self-drive costs less. For meetings, shopping, family days, evenings out and anything with an airport at one end, a car with driver removes the admin and usually wins on time.

How much does it cost to rent a car with a driver in Dubai?

Renting a car with a driver in Dubai costs about AED 90–120 an hour for a business sedan, AED 500–850 for a half day and AED 600–1,300 for a ten-hour day, based on published rate cards of Dubai chauffeur companies in September 2026. Larger and more luxurious cars cost more:

Car and bookingPublished Dubai range (Sept 2026)
Business sedan, per hourAED 90–120
Business sedan, half dayAED 500–850
Business sedan, full day (10 h)AED 600–1,300
Mercedes S-Class, full dayAED 1,400–2,500
Large SUV (GMC Yukon, Escalade), full dayAED 1,300–2,000
Mercedes V-Class, full dayAED 1,400–1,600
Rolls-Royce Ghost, full dayabout AED 5,000
Each extra emirate on a Dubai bookingAED 125–200

Our rates for each class are in the table at the top of this page. When you compare quotes, check that fuel, Salik, parking and VAT are included; a low headline rate with extras added later isn’t cheap.

The cheapest way to rent a car with driver in Dubai

Book a business sedan (E-Class, Lexus ES or similar) and match the block to your day. For five or six hours, compare the half-day price with the hourly total. For a whole day of stops, the full-day block is usually the lowest cost per hour. And if the car only needs to take you somewhere and back hours later, two fixed-price transfers beat any hourly booking. Full price guidance is on chauffeur and limousine prices and in our guide to hourly chauffeur rates.

Sample days with a car and driver

Four typical days, as examples. Times are rough; traffic sets the pace.

A business day in an S-Class (full day, 10 hours)

Pickup at 8 a.m. from a Dubai Marina hotel for a 9 a.m. meeting in DIFC. That’s inside Salik’s peak window (6–10 a.m.), so the chauffeur leaves early and may use Al Khail Road rather than Sheikh Zayed Road. From there: Business Bay at 11:30, lunch in Downtown, Dubai Internet City at 3 p.m., and dinner in Jumeirah before the hotel. Between meetings the car waits outside, and your laptop stays in the back seat.

A shopping day in an SUV (half day, 5 hours)

Pickup at 2 p.m. Mall of the Emirates first, then Dubai Mall, then the Gold Souk in Deira as the heat drops. Bags go into the car between stops. Agree the exit door with your chauffeur at each mall and message ten minutes before you leave; with several entrances per mall, it saves a lot of walking.

An Abu Dhabi day trip (full day, 10 hours)

Leave Dubai Marina at 8:30 a.m. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is about an hour’s drive from the Marina (closer to 90 minutes from central Dubai). Entry is free; wear long sleeves and long trousers or skirts, and women cover their hair. Friday midday prayers close the mosque to visitors for part of the day, so plan a Friday visit for the afternoon. Then Qasr Al Watan or the Louvre Abu Dhabi on Saadiyat Island, a late lunch on the Corniche, and back in Dubai by early evening. See chauffeur service in Abu Dhabi for local bookings there.

A family day out in a V-Class (full day, 10 hours)

Dubai Frame in the morning before it gets hot, lunch at JBR, an afternoon at Aquaventure at Atlantis on Palm Jumeirah, dinner, and back to the hotel with sleeping children. Tell us the children’s ages when you book and we’ll fit child seats. The V-Class has room for a folded pram as well as the beach bags. For a sightseeing-first day, see the private city tour.

Leaving Dubai with your hired car

A car with driver can leave Dubai. Tell us when you book so the route is in the price; many Dubai operators add AED 125–200 per extra emirate (published rate cards, September 2026), and we quote the day with the route included so you see one number.

Abu Dhabi and Sharjah

we run full local service inside both, so the car can start there as well as finish there. See chauffeur service in Sharjah.

Dubai to Abu Dhabi one way

book a fixed-price Dubai to Abu Dhabi transfer instead of hourly hire.

Northern emirates and Al Ain

transfers to Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah and Al Ain. See chauffeur service across the UAE.

Oman

we don’t cross the border. Hatta is part of Dubai, so a Hatta day is no problem.

How to book car hire with driver in Dubai

  1. Send the details on WhatsApp or by phone (+971 55 500 7952) or through the booking form: date, start time, pickup address, hours or days, passengers, bags and a rough plan.
  2. Get a fixed price for the car class that fits, usually within minutes.
  3. Confirm. Pay cash in AED or by card in the car, or by bank transfer on a corporate account.
  4. Receive your chauffeur’s details: name, mobile number and plate before pickup.

A few hours’ notice is enough for sedans and SUVs on most days. Book Rolls-Royce, Bentley and stretch cars at least 24 hours ahead, and Friday and Saturday nights in the October to January peak earlier than that. Cancellation is free up to 6 hours before pickup (24 hours for Rolls-Royce and Bentley).

What changes the price

Four things move a car-with-driver quote:

  1. Vehicle class. A Rolls-Royce day costs several times a business sedan day.
  2. Length of booking. The three-hour minimum, the half-day and full-day blocks, and any extra hours.
  3. Route. Days that include Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or the northern emirates are priced with the route.
  4. Number of cars. Two or more cars for a group, a wedding or a delegation are quoted together.

The time of day doesn’t change it. A 5 a.m. start costs the same per hour as a 5 p.m. one, with no surge on busy nights.

Rent a Car with Driver in Dubai: frequently asked questions

About AED 90–120 an hour or AED 600–1,300 for a ten-hour day for a business sedan, based on published Dubai rate cards from September 2026. An S-Class runs AED 1,400–2,500 a day. Our rates are in the table on this page, with fuel, Salik, parking and VAT included.

Yes. When you rent a car with driver, the chauffeur stays with you for the booked hours and drives wherever you want, waiting outside meetings, shops and restaurants between stops. Bookings start at three hours; a full day is ten. Inside Dubai it’s priced by time, not distance.

Yes. A full day is a 10-hour block from your pickup time, and a half day is 5 hours. Extra hours are billed at the hourly rate. Abu Dhabi or Sharjah can be part of the day if you mention it when booking.

It depends on the car and the hours. Our monthly packages run from a business sedan for 8 hours a day, five days a week, to an SUV or V-Class seven days a week, with fuel, Salik and VAT included. See the monthly driver service.

For self-drive, each rental company sets its own rules on minimum age and how long you’ve held a licence, and visitors may also need an International Driving Permit. With a car and driver none of that applies: you don’t drive, so you don’t need a licence at all.

Book a business sedan and match the block to your plans: hourly for three or four hours, a half day for five, a full day for a day of stops. For a single trip, a fixed-price transfer is cheaper than any hourly booking.

Yes. The chauffeur tracks your flight and meets you in arrivals at DXB or DWC with a name board, and the hourly or daily booking starts from pickup, so you can go straight to a meeting or on to Abu Dhabi. If you’re only going to your hotel, a fixed-price airport transfer costs less.

Yes, when the car and chauffeur are licensed. Every car we send is an RTA-licensed limousine, and every chauffeur holds an RTA permit on top of their UAE licence, which involves training, a medical and a background check. You get the driver’s name, mobile and plate before pickup, and calls in the back seat stay private.

Pay cash in AED, or by credit or debit card in the car. Companies can pay by bank transfer on a corporate account with one monthly VAT invoice. The price is fixed when you book, so there is nothing extra to settle at the end of the day unless you extend the hours.

Yes. For up to about eight passengers with luggage, book a van such as the Mercedes V-Class or Toyota HiAce VIP; see van rental with driver. For larger groups, staff transport or event guests we also arrange minibuses and coaches with a driver. Send the group size and dates and we’ll quote the right vehicle.
