Middle East Energy 2027 runs Tuesday 11 to Thursday 13 May 2027 at Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC) in Expo City Dubai, not at Dubai World Trade Centre, where the 2026 edition was held. Take the Red Line to Expo 2020 station, or be dropped at the Arrivals Plaza. Hours are 10:00–18:00, closing at 17:00 on the last day.

The venue change is the headline for anyone who has done this show before. Exhibitors who are used to a short run down Sheikh Zayed Road from DIFC now face a longer trip south. We plan exhibition and conference transport for energy-sector exhibitors and delegations, and this guide covers what the move means for your cars, crews and hotels.

Where do you go inside Dubai Exhibition Centre?

DEC’s Middle East Energy 2027 listing puts the show in the North and South Halls, with stands numbered N21 to N39 and S7 to S19. Both wings open off the Arrivals Plaza, which the venue describes as its main entrance.

So the drop-off is the same whichever hall you’re in. Get to the Arrivals Plaza, then follow the N or S signs. If your stand is at the far end of a wing, add the walk to your timings: DEC is a long, linear building, and a stand at N39 is a lot further than one at N21.

How do you get to Middle East Energy at Expo City?

By metro. The Red Line runs to Expo 2020 station, which connects to DEC, with trains every 3–4 minutes according to the venue. Only trains signed for Expo 2020 go there; trains to Life Pharmacy split off before Expo City.

By car. The DEC venue guide lists more than 2,300 visitor parking bays with scheduled shuttle buses to the Arrivals Plaza. Other organisers charged for DEC parking at their 2026 shows, so check the Middle East Energy visitor information before you drive.

By chauffeur. The car drops you at the show’s drop-off near the Arrivals Plaza, then holds in the visitor parking or a marshalled area until you call. Our Expo City Dubai guide covers the approach roads and car park zones.

Coming from Abu Dhabi

If your team is based in Abu Dhabi, the move is good news. Expo City sits on the Abu Dhabi side of Dubai, so there’s no crawl through the city centre to reach the show, as there was to DWTC. We pick up inside Abu Dhabi too; see our Dubai to Abu Dhabi chauffeur page for how intercity days work.

Moving stand crews and delegations

Energy exhibitors often bring large teams: engineers on the stand, sales staff, technical specialists and visiting clients. Splitting them across taxis every morning is how a 09:00 briefing turns into a 10:15 one.

Group sizeWhat we’d send
1–3Business sedan, fixed transfers or hourly hire
4–6V-Class or large SUV
7–12Van with driver or two vans
12 and aboveA minibus or coach, which we arrange with a driver (bus rental)

For a crew in one hotel, a single bus run at 08:30 and a pickup at 18:15 beats a dozen individual cars. For executives with client meetings, keep a sedan on hourly hire alongside the bus.

Traffic and clashes in May 2027

The fortnight before Middle East Energy is busy at both venues. GISEC Global uses DEC on 4–6 May, and Arabian Travel Market fills DWTC on 3–6 May; our GISEC Global transport guide covers the week before at the same halls. By Middle East Energy week, DEC has just turned over from one big show to the next, so check the drop-off signage on the first morning rather than assuming it’s the same as last week.

Two timing rules for the show days:

  • Arrive before 10:00. The half hour before opening is when the car parks, shuttles and drop-off lanes all load together.
  • Leave 15 minutes before closing or 30 minutes after it. The first hour after closing is when metro, taxis and private cars converge on the exits, and the drive back north meets the evening peak.

The rest of the season is in our Dubai events calendar.
