Apimondia 2027, the 50th International Apicultural Congress, runs 15–19 November 2027 in Dubai. The venue hasn’t been announced yet. It shares its dates with the Dubai Airshow, so cars, vans and hotels will be in short supply that week. Delegations should book airport pickups and daily venue transport as soon as they book rooms.
Dubai’s convention bureau expects about 5,000 delegates from beekeeping associations around the world. We plan conference transport in Dubai for groups like these, and with a beekeeping congress the people are only half the job; there’s exhibition kit and samples moving too.
When and where is Apimondia 2027?
The Apimondia federation’s congress page confirms 15–19 November 2027 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Neither it nor the official Apimondia 2027 congress site names a venue as of mid-October 2026.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Dates | Monday 15 – Friday 19 November 2027 |
| City | Dubai |
| Venue | Not announced yet |
| Host | UAE Beekeepers Foundation, with Apimondia (International Federation of Beekeepers’ Associations) |
| Theme | ”Beekeeping for the Future: Educate, Innovate, Sustain” |
| Programme | Scientific congress plus an international exhibition (ApiExpo) |
| Expected attendance | About 5,000 delegates (Dubai Business Events) |
The 5,000 figure comes from the Dubai Media Office’s January 2026 release on events won by Dubai Business Events. Abstract submissions opened in September 2026. In July 2026, Apimondia’s Executive Committee reviewed the situation in the Middle East at its annual meeting in Portugal and confirmed the congress will go ahead in Dubai as planned.
Apimondia is a one-off for Dubai. The congress moves to a different country every two years, so there’s no Dubai edition in 2026 or 2028. Our Dubai events calendar lists the other big dates around it.
Who goes to Apimondia?
Beekeepers, researchers, honey traders, equipment makers and national beekeeping associations, many travelling as national delegations. That mix shapes the transport:
- Delegations of 10–40 who want to arrive, check in and travel to the venue together.
- Scientists and speakers on their own schedules, moving between sessions, hotels and dinners.
- Exhibitors at ApiExpo, who need early access for stand build and late departures on breakdown day.
- Partners and families travelling with delegates, who want a car for sightseeing while the sessions run.
The Airshow problem
The Dubai Airshow runs 15–19 November 2027 at the Dubai Airshow site at DWC, exactly the same five days. The Airshow pulls aviation and defence delegations from around the world, and they book business sedans, SUVs and vans in large numbers for the whole week.
What that means for Apimondia delegates:
- Hotels go first. Book rooms near the congress venue as soon as it’s announced, or somewhere central and well connected until then.
- Cars go second. Large SUVs and V-Classes are the first vehicles to run out in a busy Dubai week. Confirm yours when you confirm the hotel.
- Roads around Dubai South get heavy. Airshow traffic loads the roads to DWC and Expo City. If Apimondia ends up at a venue in that part of the city, allow extra time morning and evening.
- The weekend before is busy at the airports. Both events open on Monday 15 November, so delegates and exhibitors for both will be landing on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 November.
How to get delegates from the airport to the hotel
Most delegates will land at DXB. Group arrivals work best with one vehicle per flight, not one per person.
| Group size with luggage | Vehicle we’d send | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1–3 | Business sedan | Fits three passengers and their bags |
| 4–6 | SUV or Mercedes V-Class | Exhibitors with sample cases need the V-Class |
| 7–8 | Van with driver: Mercedes Vito or Toyota HiAce VIP | One pickup for a small delegation |
| 9–30 | Minibus with driver | Name board in arrivals, luggage loaded together |
| 30–53 | Coach with driver | Large national delegations on the same flight |
Our airport pickups include flight tracking, a meet-and-greet with a name board in arrivals and 45–60 minutes of free waiting. For a delegation, send us the flight list and the hotel, and we’ll match vehicles to each flight. DWC arrivals work the same way, with the chauffeur waiting in the arrivals hall with a name board.
Daily hotel–venue transport
Once the venue is announced, there are two ways to run a delegation’s week:
- Fixed loops. A minibus or coach does a morning run from the hotel to the venue and an evening run back, at set times. Cheapest per head, and it suits a delegation that sits through the same sessions.
- Hourly hire. A car or van stays with your group for the day (3-hour minimum), covering the venue, a lunch meeting and an evening reception. Better for speakers, association presidents and exhibitors who keep different hours.
Dubai’s big congress venues are Dubai World Trade Centre, next to Sheikh Zayed Road, and Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City in Dubai South. If Apimondia lands at either, our guides to DWTC parking and drop-off and getting to Expo City apply. We’ll update this page as soon as the organiser names the venue.
For budgeting, published Dubai rate cards (September 2026) put a business sedan with driver at AED 90–120 an hour and a V-Class full day at AED 1,400–1,600. For bigger groups, we arrange minibuses and coaches with a driver from 12 to 53 seats.
