What makes the Autobiography's back seat different?
The Autobiography we run has executive rear seats with massage. On the current Range Rover, Land Rover’s Executive Class rear seating puts an 8-inch touchscreen controller in an electrically deployable centre armrest, so rear passengers can set up their seats without leaning forward to ask. Land Rover calls the massage programme “hot stone”, and on the Abu Dhabi run after a long-haul flight, it earns its keep.
With two passengers in the back, the centre armrest stays down and each person gets a proper armchair. Put a third adult back there and the armrest has to fold away, which is why we suggest the Autobiography for one or two principals plus, at most, an assistant up front.
The rest is Range Rover: electronic air suspension soaks up speed bumps and ramps, you sit high with a clear view out, and the Meridian audio is there if you want it. Three large suitcases fit in the boot. Bottled water and Wi-Fi are in the car, so the back seat works as an office on the move.
