ADIHEX 2027, the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, runs Friday 27 August to Sunday 5 September 2027 at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, open 10am to 10pm. From Dubai it’s a 75-minute to 2-hour drive each way. In late-August heat, a drop-off at the entrance beats the free car parks and the walk across.
ADIHEX is a public show as much as a trade one, so the people we drive there are families, falconers and collectors as often as exhibitors. We run Dubai to Abu Dhabi chauffeur transfers for day visits, and longer hire for exhibitor teams who stay the full ten days. Here’s what to expect on the road and at the gate.
ADIHEX dates: 2026, 2027 and 2028
ADIHEX is held every year at ADNEC. The official ADIHEX website lists 27 August to 5 September 2027. ADNEC Group organises it, and the show is owned by the Emirates Falconers’ Club.
| Edition | Dates | Venue | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| ADIHEX 2026 (23rd edition) | Fri 28 August – Sun 6 September 2026 | ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi | Held; the first 10-day edition |
| ADIHEX 2027 | Fri 27 August – Sun 5 September 2027 | ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi | Dates on the official site |
| ADIHEX 2028 | Not announced yet | – | Usually late August to early September |
Opening hours in 2026 were 10am to 10pm daily. Check the last-entry time before you set off late: for 2026, the English page listed 8:30pm and the Arabic page 9:30pm. Entry is ticketed through the ADIHEX website.
What ADIHEX is, and why evenings get busy
ADIHEX covers 15 sectors, from falconry, salukis, camels and equestrian to hunting and camping equipment, fishing and marine sports, RVs and caravans, and a traditional souk. There are family activities too, such as falcon handling and art workshops for all ages. The organiser reported more than 480,000 visitors from 71 countries in 2026.
That’s a lot of people across ten days, and two of those days fall on each weekend. In late August, the 10pm close makes evenings the comfortable time to go, so expect the heaviest arrivals after about 5pm and on Saturdays and Sundays.
Parking at ADIHEX: the three options
For 2026, the organiser’s ADIHEX parking page (in Arabic) set out three choices:
| Option | Where | Price (2026) | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Covered garages A and B | Multi-level, a short walk to ADNEC’s main entrances | AED 20 per car | First come, first served; pay on site or book online |
| Outdoor car parks D and E | At ADNEC Marina, off Al Khaleej Al Arabi Street, with a covered footbridge to the show | Free | First come, first served |
| Premium Grandstand parking | The main Grandstand car park | AED 500 per car | Reserved space for one entry on a day you choose, with a free golf cart to the main entrances |
Two rules catch people out. Parking doesn’t include your ADIHEX ticket, and leaving a car overnight is strictly banned without ADNEC’s permission.
Drop-off or parking?
If you’re driving yourself on a weekday morning, garages A and B at AED 20 are the sensible choice. On a weekend evening they’re first come, first served, and you may end up at D and E, with a longer walk in the heat.
A chauffeured car takes that out of the equation. We drop you at the entrance closest to the halls you want, the car holds nearby, and you call when you’re ready to leave. With small children, older relatives or anyone who struggles in the heat, that’s the main reason to book a car for ADIHEX rather than drive.
Leaving is the harder half. At 10pm the whole show empties at once. ADNEC’s own taxi rank is at the adjacent Aloft hotel entrance, and you can book an Abu Dhabi taxi through TransAD on 600 53 53 53, according to ADNEC’s getting here page. Expect a queue at closing time. A booked car is waiting before you reach the door: call the chauffeur 15 minutes before you head out.
When to drive from Dubai for ADIHEX
The best time to leave Dubai depends on when you want to be inside:
| Your visit | Leave Dubai | Head back |
|---|---|---|
| Weekday daytime | 9:30–10am, after the morning rush | By 3pm, before the evening peak |
| Weekday evening | About 2pm, ahead of the 3:30pm build-up | After the 10pm close; quiet roads |
| Saturday or Sunday | Late morning or early afternoon | After 8pm, or at the close |
On a weekday, the drive back from ADNEC between 4 and 8pm can take up to 2 hours. After 10pm it’s closer to 1 hour 30 minutes to Downtown Dubai, and quicker to Dubai Marina or JLT. Our Dubai to Abu Dhabi distance and travel time guide breaks it down by district.
Tolls follow the clock too. The Darb gate at Ghantoot on the E11 charges AED 4 at any hour; the bridge gates onto Abu Dhabi island charge AED 4 from 7 to 9am and 3 to 7pm, Monday to Saturday, and nothing on Sundays. In our cars, Darb and Salik are part of the fixed Dubai–Abu Dhabi price, so the time you travel doesn’t change what you pay.
For a single visit, book a return with waiting: one price, the car drops you and brings you home whenever you’re done. For two or three visits in a week, compare that with a few nights near ADNEC and our limousine service in Abu Dhabi for the local runs.
Families, clubs and what you carry home
- Families of five to seven: a full-size SUV such as a GMC Yukon or Cadillac Escalade, with room for a pushchair. See our luxury SUV chauffeur options.
- Bulky purchases: camping kit, saddlery and outdoor gear fill a sedan boot quickly. If you’re shopping seriously, book an SUV or a van and tell us when you book.
- Clubs, stables and groups: for 12 or more people, a minibus or coach through our bus rental in Abu Dhabi service, collected in Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
- Exhibitor teams staying ten days: daily hotel-to-ADNEC loops with a fixed pickup time, plus the Dubai transfers at each end.
ADNEC runs a full public-show calendar, and the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is the other big family event there. Our Dubai events calendar shows what’s on in Dubai the same weeks.
