Rolls-Royce vs Bentley with chauffeur in Dubai: which to book for which occasion
Rolls-Royce vs Bentley with chauffeur in Dubai: ride, rear cabin, luggage and price compared, and which to book for weddings, VIP arrivals and business.

Book a Rolls-Royce when the arrival is the point: a wedding, a VIP greeted at the airport, a red-carpet drop, a principal on a state-level visit. Book a Bentley when you want the same class of comfort with a lower profile: a business day, a long drive to Abu Dhabi, a dinner where you’d rather not be looked at. Both come with a chauffeur through our Rolls-Royce chauffeur service and Bentley chauffeur service.
That’s the short answer. The longer one depends on the passengers, the luggage and what the car needs to say.
Rolls-Royce vs Bentley at a glance
| Rolls-Royce (Ghost, Phantom, Cullinan) | Bentley (Flying Spur, Mulsanne) | |
|---|---|---|
| Presence | Recognised instantly. Heads turn | Equally expensive, less theatrical |
| Ride | Soft and isolated; built around the rear passenger | Firmer and more connected; built around driving |
| Rear doors | Rear-hinged coach doors, a signature arrival moment | Conventional doors |
| Rear space | Ghost Extended adds 170 mm of legroom over the Ghost | Generous; Flying Spur is a long four-door saloon |
| Luggage | Ghost and Phantom: about two large cases. Cullinan: 560 litres | Flying Spur: 346 litres, about two large cases |
| Best at | Weddings, VIP arrivals, landmark photos | Business days, long drives, discreet evenings |
| Price | The top of the market | Usually a little below a Rolls-Royce |
| Our cancellation terms | Free up to 24 hours before pickup | Free up to 24 hours before pickup |
The cabin figures come from the makers: Rolls-Royce’s press office for the Ghost Extended’s extra 170 mm and the Cullinan’s 560-litre boot, and Bentley’s own Flying Spur specification for its 346-litre boot.
Which is better for a wedding in Dubai?
A Rolls-Royce, in most cases. The rear-hinged coach doors let the bride step out forwards, facing the camera, and a white Ghost or Phantom outside a ballroom is the photograph most couples have in mind. The Cullinan works for venues where a taller car suits the setting or where the couple wants to carry more.
A Bentley suits a wedding where the couple prefers something less expected, or for the groom’s car and family cars alongside a Rolls-Royce for the bride. Our wedding car page covers decoration, timing and how many hours to book, and the best wedding cars in Dubai guide compares the other bridal options.
Which is better for business and VIP guests?
It depends on whether the guest wants to be seen.
- Visiting chairman or government-level guest, greeted at the airport: Rolls-Royce Ghost or Phantom. The car is part of the welcome.
- Senior executive with a day of meetings in DIFC: Bentley Flying Spur, or a Mercedes S-Class or Maybach. Arriving at a client’s tower in a Rolls-Royce can send the wrong message.
- Principal who works in the car: a Ghost Extended’s extra rear legroom helps on long days; a Flying Spur is calm, roomy and less conspicuous.
- Family office principal with luggage: Rolls-Royce Cullinan, or an SUV plus a luggage car.
For multi-car visits, our guide to delegation and VIP visitor transport covers car plans and seating.
Ride and cabin: what the passenger notices
From the rear seat, the Rolls-Royce is the softer, quieter car. Rolls-Royce says it filled cavities in the Ghost’s roof, boot and floor with more than 100 kg of sound-absorbing material. Road noise on Sheikh Zayed Road fades into the background, which is why it’s the car we suggest after a long-haul flight.
The Bentley feels more like a very fast, very well-made saloon. The ride is firmer, the cabin more tailored and the car more composed on a long motorway run. On the E11 to Abu Dhabi, some passengers prefer it for exactly that.
Neither is uncomfortable. The difference is character, and it’s worth asking the passenger which they prefer.
Price: how much more is a Rolls-Royce?
Published Dubai rate cards (September 2026) put a Rolls-Royce Ghost with chauffeur at about AED 5,000 for a ten-hour day. Bentley rates sat a little below Rolls-Royce on the cards we reviewed; one listed a Bentley Mulsanne at AED 4,600 for ten hours against AED 5,500 for a Ghost on the same card.
The gap matters less than the booking type. A Bentley for a full day costs more than a Rolls-Royce transfer. Choose the car for the occasion, then choose the shortest booking that covers it. Our Rolls-Royce price guide breaks down transfers, three-hour bookings and half days.
Luggage and passengers: the practical check
Both brands’ sedans are built for two passengers in the rear. Three adults fit, but the point of the car is lost. Plan on:
- Two rear passengers per car. A third person rides in another car or in front, if the protocol allows.
- Two large cases in a sedan boot. Ghost, Phantom and Flying Spur alike.
- More luggage means a Cullinan or a second car. For airport pickups, we send a separate car for bags rather than squeeze them in.
Five things to confirm before you book either car
Ultra-luxury bookings go wrong on details, not on the car. Confirm these in writing:
- Model, year and colour. “A Rolls-Royce” covers several models and generations. Ask which one you’re getting, and its colour, especially for a wedding.
- Rear seat layout. Some cars have two individual rear seats, others a three-seat bench. If three people must ride together, check first.
- Where the car stops. Hotels and venues control their forecourts. For galas and weddings, ask the venue where cars pull up and where they wait, and pass it on to us.
- The cancellation window. For both brands ours is 24 hours before pickup, against 6 hours for other cars. Build that into your planning if dates might move.
- Luggage. Give the real number of cases. It decides if you need a Cullinan or a second car.
Which occasion, which car
| Occasion | Our pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Bride’s car | Rolls-Royce Ghost or Phantom | Coach doors, photographs |
| Groom or family cars | Bentley Flying Spur | Matching class, lower cost |
| VIP airport welcome | Rolls-Royce Ghost | Recognition on arrival |
| Day of meetings | Bentley Flying Spur | Discreet, comfortable |
| Dubai to Abu Dhabi and back | Bentley Flying Spur | Composed at motorway speeds |
| Couple with luggage | Rolls-Royce Cullinan | 560-litre boot, higher seating |
| Red carpet or gala | Rolls-Royce Phantom | The arrival itself |
Frequently asked questions
Is Rolls-Royce more luxurious than Bentley?
Both sit at the top of the market. Rolls-Royce leans towards rear-seat comfort, silence and presence; Bentley towards driving character and a more understated look. For a chauffeur-driven passenger, the Rolls-Royce cabin is usually the softer and quieter of the two.
Which car is best for a chauffeur service?
For the rear passenger, a long-wheelbase sedan: Rolls-Royce Ghost or Phantom, Bentley Flying Spur, Mercedes-Maybach or Mercedes S-Class. For most business travel, an S-Class does the job; the Rolls-Royce and Bentley are for occasions where the car is part of the message.
Which is better for a wedding in Dubai, Rolls-Royce or Bentley?
A Rolls-Royce for the bride, in most cases: the coach doors and the car’s recognition make the arrival photographs. A Bentley works well as the groom’s or family car, or for couples who want something less expected.
Is a Bentley cheaper to hire than a Rolls-Royce in Dubai?
Usually a little. On the September 2026 rate cards we reviewed, Bentley day rates sat below the Rolls-Royce Ghost, which runs about AED 5,000 for ten hours. Both carry our 24-hour free cancellation window.
How many passengers fit in a Rolls-Royce Ghost?
Plan on two passengers in the rear, three at most, and about two large suitcases in the boot. For more people or luggage, book a Rolls-Royce Cullinan or add a second car.
