Wedding car decoration in Dubai works best when it’s light and secure: a flower arrangement on the bonnet, ribbons from the mascot to the mirrors, and small posies on the rear door handles. Keep the number plates, lights, windscreen and windows clear, as UAE traffic rules require, and fit fresh flowers as late as possible because of the heat.

When you book wedding car hire in Dubai with us, we dress the car with ribbons and fresh flowers in your colours, and if you’d rather bring your own flowers, we’ll fit them. Below are the ideas that photograph well, what the rules allow, how the heat changes your choices, and what decoration costs.

What’s allowed on a decorated car in the UAE?

We couldn’t find a UAE traffic rule written specifically for wedding cars. The general rules apply, and they’re clear about the parts of the car that must stay uncovered:

RuleWhat it means for wedding decoration
Number plates must stay visible and readableNo flowers, bows or “Just Married” signs over either plate. Driving with an obscured plate is an AED 400 fine under the federal traffic law.
Nothing on the windscreen or windows that blocks the driver’s viewBonnet arrangements stay low; nothing on the glass or hanging across the rear window
No stickers on the body or windscreen, and no change to the car’s colourUse ribbons and removable fixtures, not vinyl wraps or stickers
No leaning out of windows or sunroofsThe bride waves from the seat, not through the roof
No blocking traffic or forming paradesA slow convoy with horns and hazard lights on a main road is the kind of thing these rules target

The last four points come from the Ministry of Interior’s guidance for decorated cars during National Day celebrations in November 2025. That guidance is the clearest official statement of how UAE police treat decorated cars, and we follow the same limits for weddings. The traffic law itself is Federal Decree-Law No. 14 of 2024 on Traffic Regulation.

Our own rules add two more: nothing is glued or taped to the paint, and nothing covers the lights.

Wedding car decoration ideas that work

The best designs frame the car rather than hide it. These are the ones that hold up on the road and in photos:

  • Bonnet arrangement: a low spray of roses or orchids set on a padded, non-slip base in the centre of the bonnet. The classic choice, and the easiest to keep secure.
  • V-ribbon: two satin ribbons from the mascot or bonnet badge to the wing mirrors. Cheap, elegant and it doesn’t wilt.
  • Door handle posies: small matching bunches on the rear door handles, where the bride gets in and out. They show up in every arrival photo.
  • Mirror bows: simple bows on the wing mirrors, tied so they don’t touch the glass.
  • Boot garland: a short garland along the boot lid, well above the rear number plate.
  • Full garland or baraat style: marigold or rose garlands across the bonnet and roof line, popular for South Asian weddings. Stunning, but it needs a car that’s only driven slowly and briefly, and a florist who knows how to secure it.

Colour tips: on a white car, deep reds, blush pinks or greenery stand out in photos. On a black car, white roses, ivory ribbons or cream orchids do the work. Match the ribbon to the bridal colours and keep flowers to one or two colours.

Flowers or ribbons: which suits a Dubai wedding?

It depends on the season, the length of the drive and the budget.

Our advice: from October to April, fresh flowers are fine for a normal wedding evening. From May to September, use silk flowers for anything that sits in the sun, or keep fresh flowers to the door handles and fit them just before departure.

When should the car be decorated?

Late, and in the shade. Our timeline for a decorated bridal car:

  1. Confirm the design at booking. Tell us the colours, the flowers and if you’re supplying your own.
  2. Decorate at the pickup point, not at our base. In Dubai heat, fresh flowers look best when they’ve travelled the shortest distance.
  3. Car arrives 30 minutes before departure, decorated, washed and cooled down, ready for getting-ready photos.
  4. Drive steadily. The chauffeur keeps to the speed limit and avoids sharp braking, which is what dislodges bonnet arrangements.
  5. Check between venues. A quick look at the ribbons and flowers before the reception arrival.
  6. Remove it before any long drive home. Decorations come off before a run on Sheikh Zayed Road or an intercity trip.

For a wedding in Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah or Fujairah, fit the flowers at the destination or use silk flowers. A bonnet arrangement at motorway speed for over an hour is asking for trouble.

Wedding car decoration etiquette

A few customs and courtesies make the day smoother:

  • The bride’s car gets the most decoration. The groom’s car is usually ribbons only, and family cars aren’t decorated.
  • Keep it one style across the convoy. If the stretch limo and the bridal car both carry ribbons, use the same colour.
  • Let the chauffeur see. Nothing on the dashboard, rear shelf or mirrors that changes what the driver sees.
  • No confetti or rice at the car. It gets into the vents and the door seals.
  • Ask the venue. Some hotels and palaces limit what can be placed at the entrance, or where a decorated car can wait for photos.

For choosing the car itself, our guide to the best wedding cars in Dubai compares the Phantom, Ghost, Bentley, S-Class and stretch limos.

How much does wedding car decoration cost in Dubai?

Published Dubai florist listings (September 2026) show car flower decoration from around AED 400 for a bonnet arrangement, AED 850–1,900 for fuller designs, and AED 4,500–6,000 for full rose “wraps” that cover most of the car. Ribbons on their own cost very little.

What moves the price:

  • Flower type and season: imported roses and orchids cost more, and demand peaks in the cooler wedding months.
  • Coverage: a bonnet spray is a fraction of a full garland.
  • Fresh or silk: silk survives the heat and can be reused; fresh looks best close up.
  • Fitting: a florist fitting on site, at the right time, adds to the bill but saves the look.

Our two wedding packages, a Rolls-Royce Phantom for 4 hours and a Mercedes S-Class for 3 hours, already include ribbons and flowers, along with the suited chauffeur, fuel, Salik, parking and VAT. Larger or custom designs can be discussed at booking, and you’re welcome to bring your own florist’s work. For market prices on the cars themselves, see Rolls-Royce hire price in Dubai.

Frequently asked questions

How can I decorate my car for my wedding?

Keep it simple and secure: a low flower arrangement on the bonnet on a padded base, satin ribbons from the bonnet badge to the mirrors, and small posies on the rear door handles. Leave the number plates, lights, windscreen and windows clear, and fit fresh flowers close to departure.

What can you use to decorate a wedding car?

Fresh or silk flowers, satin ribbons, bows and short garlands, all fixed with padded, non-slip bases or ties rather than tape or glue. Avoid stickers on the body or glass; UAE authorities treat stickers and covered windows or plates as traffic offences.

Yes, as long as the decoration doesn’t cover the number plates, lights or windows, block the driver’s view or change the car’s colour. An obscured number plate is an AED 400 fine, and convoys that block traffic or passengers leaning out of sunroofs can draw police action.

How much does it cost to decorate a car for a wedding in Dubai?

Published Dubai florist listings (September 2026) start around AED 400 for a bonnet arrangement and run to AED 850–1,900 for fuller designs and AED 4,500–6,000 for full rose wraps. Our Phantom and S-Class wedding packages include ribbons and flowers in the price.

Do people still decorate wedding cars in Dubai?

Yes. Ribbons and flowers are part of both our bridal car packages, and full floral garlands are a tradition at many South Asian weddings. Lighter designs photograph cleanly and cope better with the heat.
