What's the difference between a Vito and a V-Class?
Same body, different cabin. Since 2014, Mercedes has built one mid-size van and sold it under two names. The V-Class is the premium passenger version, with lounge-style seats and a finished interior. The Vito name covers the working van and the plainer passenger versions built on the same body.
For a chauffeured booking, that difference shows up in two places:
- Capacity. We book the Vito for seven passengers and five large cases, against six and four in the V-Class.
- Cabin. The Vito’s leather seats are laid out for a full load rather than for conversation, and the trim is plainer. It’s the one to ask about when space matters more than the cabin.
Everything that makes a van easier than an SUV still applies. Passengers walk in through a sliding door, nobody folds into a third row, and the boot is a proper, square load space. Rear climate control keeps the back cool in summer, there’s USB charging for phones, and bottled water and Wi-Fi come with every trip.

We book the Vito for seven passengers with five large suitcases. That’s the comfortable maximum with luggage. For eight passengers, book a Toyota HiAce VIP. For bigger groups we split across two vans, or send a minibus with driver from 13 seats up.
