The Emirates Dubai 7s runs 27–29 November 2026 at The Sevens Stadium on the Dubai–Al Ain Road (E66), about 20 minutes outside central Dubai. Parking is free, taxis and ride-hailing have their own drop-off zones, and free festival buses run back into Dubai at night. Last entry is 8pm. The hard part is getting home late, so book that leg first.
Sevens weekend is three days of rugby, amateur tournaments, music and families, and the stadium sits out in the desert with no metro. We book event limousine and chauffeur transport for Sevens groups, from couples to full teams. Here’s how the site works and how we’d plan the weekend.
When is the Dubai Rugby Sevens 2026?
The organiser’s essential information page confirms 27–29 November 2026 at The Sevens Stadium. The HSBC SVNS Series rugby is played on Pitch 1, with amateur rugby, netball, cricket and other competitions across the other pitches.
| Day | Date | Transport note |
|---|---|---|
| Friday | 27 Nov 2026 | Weekend opens; afternoon traffic out of Dubai builds after work |
| Saturday | 28 Nov 2026 | Full day of rugby and music; arrive early |
| Sunday | 29 Nov 2026 | Last day; late finish before a working Monday |
The 7s falls between Big 5 Global at DWTC (23–26 November) and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (3–6 December), so group cars are in demand all fortnight. See our Dubai events calendar for the full season and our Abu Dhabi Grand Prix guide for the weekend after.
Where is The Sevens Stadium, and how long does it take to get there?
The Sevens Stadium is on the E66 Dubai–Al Ain Road. There’s no metro station nearby, so everyone arrives by road. The organiser’s travel page lists these drive times:
| From | Drive time (organiser’s figure) |
|---|---|
| Jebel Ali | 27 minutes |
| Dubai International Airport | 28 minutes |
| Motor City | 28 minutes |
| Business Bay | 29 minutes |
| Dubai Marina | 35 minutes |
Those are the organiser’s figures. On Saturday afternoon, with everyone arriving at once, the last stretch into the car parks takes longer.
Getting there: car, taxi, ride-hailing or chauffeur
| Option | How it works at the 7s | Good for | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Chauffeur | Drop at the “Drop Off & Pick Up Only” zone near the main entrance; car waits in the car park | Groups, families, anyone drinking | Agree the pickup time and spot before you go in |
| Self-drive | Free parking in designated areas; the organiser lists 15,000 spaces | Early arrivals, non-drinkers | Slow exit from the car parks at night |
| RTA taxi | Drops at the dedicated Taxi Queue; taxis available all evening | One-way trips | Queue at peak leaving time |
| Careem or Uber | Follow signs for “Drop Off & Pick Up Only”, close to the main entrance | One-way trips | Surge pricing and waits after 9pm |
| Free festival bus | Evening buses back to five points in Dubai | Budget trip home | Only runs from 7pm, return direction only |
Accessible parking and drop-off for people of determination is at Gate 9, less than 50 metres from the entrance.
Gates at The Sevens Stadium
Your ticket decides your gate, which decides where you want to be dropped.
| Gate | Who uses it |
|---|---|
| Gate 10 | General admission |
| Gate 9 | People of determination |
| Gate 7 | Invitational players, media and staff |
| Gate 6 | VIP |
| Gate 4 | Cricket |
Last entry is 8pm, and there’s no re-entry after 9pm. If you’re arriving from a Friday workday, don’t cut it close.
How do you get home from the Dubai Sevens?
The organiser’s getting there page lists three ways out:
- Free festival buses from 7pm each night. The current travel page lists them on Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 7pm and 1:30am, every 15 minutes, to DMCC Metro (JLT), Sports City, Studio City, Financial Centre Metro (DIFC) and the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium. Leave by the main exit and turn left through the arch; look for signs saying “BUSES”.
- RTA taxis from the dedicated taxi rank: main exit, turn right under the arch, follow the “TAXI” signs.
- Ride-hailing and private cars from the “Drop Off & Pick Up Only” zone near the main entrance.
Check the organiser’s travel page closer to the weekend; routes and times can change between editions.
Our late-night pickup plan
The festival keeps going after the rugby, and everyone who came by taxi wants one at the same moment. This is how we handle 7s pickups:
- Agree a time before you go in. “We’ll call around 10pm” is enough. The chauffeur stays in the free car park, not in the drop-off lane.
- Message 20 minutes before you walk out. The car moves to the pickup zone while you walk.
- Meet at a fixed landmark. We agree the spot in the morning, so no one is hunting for a car in the dark.
- Count heads. Groups drift at the end of a long day. Your chauffeur waits for the full party, but the fewer calls, the faster you’re away.
Our honest advice: leave either before the evening rush or well after it. The worst window is the hour after the last big match.
Traffic windows to avoid
- Friday 4pm to 7pm inbound on E66. Work traffic and 7s arrivals overlap.
- Saturday midday to mid-afternoon. Day-pass holders tend to arrive together, so the car park approach slows.
- The hour after the final big match each night. Buses, taxis and car parks all peak together.
- Sunday night back into the city. Most people head home at the same time before the working week.
Planning a group weekend at the 7s
- Choose the car for the group, not the event. Six friends fit one large SUV or a V-Class with chauffeur. Bigger groups need two cars and a shared pickup point.
- Book hourly for the day, or a fixed drop and pickup. Hourly hire (3-hour minimum) keeps the car on site. A fixed drop and a fixed pickup time costs less if your group can stick to the time.
- Plan the pickup first. Getting there is easy. Getting a whole group home at midnight is the job.
- Use one car for the weekend. Same chauffeur, same meeting point each night, fewer phone calls.
- Bring layers. The stadium is in the desert and late-November nights are cooler than the city.
If you’re staying in the Marina, our Dubai Marina limousine service covers the 35-minute run out to Al Ain Road and back.
