Dubai Run 2026 is on Sunday 22 November, starting at 6:30am on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Museum of the Future, with 5km and 10km routes through Downtown and DIFC. Last year RTA closed Sheikh Zayed Road from 3am to 10am and opened the metro at 3am. Take the metro in, or get dropped outside the closures and walk.
Dubai Run is the biggest morning of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, the city’s free 30-day push to do 30 minutes of activity a day. More than 300,000 people ran in 2025, so the hard part is the crowd, not the distance. We book event limousine and chauffeur transport for families and groups heading in at dawn. Here’s what was closed last time, where to get dropped, and how to get home.
When is Dubai Run 2026, and what else is on the Dubai Fitness Challenge?
Dubai Media Office confirms the 10th Dubai Fitness Challenge runs 31 October to 29 November 2026, with Dubai Run on Sunday 22 November. Registration is free on the Dubai Fitness Challenge website. Four mass events anchor the month:
| Event | Date | Where | Transport note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dubai Ride | Sunday 1 November | Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown | Routes open at 6:15am, riders start by 7:30am |
| Dubai Stand-Up Paddle | 7–8 November | Hatta Dam | A day trip from the city; see our Dubai to Hatta guide |

| Dubai Yoga | Sunday 29 November | Not announced yet | Closes the 2026 edition |
Three free Fitness Villages run for the full 30 days, alongside more than 23 community fitness hubs across the city.

The two Dubai Run routes
Both routes start on Sheikh Zayed Road near the Museum of the Future, according to the organiser’s Dubai Run page.
- 5km: the family route. It turns into Downtown Dubai and finishes on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, by Dubai Mall.
- 10km: stays on Sheikh Zayed Road and finishes at the Gate Building in DIFC. In 2025 the 10km passed the Dubai Water Canal and Burj Khalifa on the way.
That split matters for pickups. A 5km group and a 10km runner from the same family finish in different places, at different times, inside the same closed zone.
What closed for Dubai Run 2025
RTA’s plan for the 2025 run, as Gulf News reported it, ran the metro from 3am to midnight and closed these roads from 3am to 10am:
| Road | Section |
|---|---|
| Sheikh Zayed Road | Trade Centre Roundabout to the Al Hadiq Road bridge |
| Lower Financial Centre Street | Between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road |
| Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard | The one-way section |
| Al Sukook Street | One lane of the one-way section |
| Parking along Sheikh Zayed Road | Closed |
RTA also pointed runners to World Trade Centre Metro Station for the start. These are last year’s closures. RTA announces the 2026 plan close to the date, usually a day or two before, and the start has moved to the Museum of the Future end, so check the new list before you plan your route.
Getting to the start before 6:30am
The metro is the best way in, and we’d say that to any client. It ran from 3am last year, it gets you close to the start, and it doesn’t care about road closures.
A car still helps at the other end of the metro ride, especially for families with children or anyone living far from a station. The plan we use:
- Drop at a Red Line station outside the closures. A station north of the Trade Centre Roundabout, or anywhere along the line from your side of town, then ride in. No hunting for an open road at 5am.
- If you’d rather walk in, pick a drop point the night before. We check it against RTA’s published closures; a spot that worked last year may be inside this year’s zone.
- Leave early. With hundreds of thousands of people heading for the same few stations, the queue at the station gate is the bottleneck, not the train.
If you’re staying in Downtown Dubai or DIFC, you’re probably walking distance from the start already. Book the car for the trip home instead.
Getting home after Dubai Run
Last year the roads stayed closed until 10am, and most 5km runners were done long before that. You have two sensible options.
Go by metro. Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station serves the 5km finish area, and the Red Line runs along Sheikh Zayed Road beside DIFC for the 10km finish. Expect queues straight after the main waves finish.
Have breakfast, then get picked up. Downtown and DIFC are full of cafés, and by the time you’ve eaten, the roads are reopening. Agree the pickup point with us the day before: a hotel entrance or a car park outside the closure list is better than “the finish line”. For families or a running club, a Mercedes V-Class takes the whole group home in one car.
Hourly hire has a 3-hour minimum, and there’s no surge pricing on busy mornings like this one. Our prices include fuel, Salik and VAT.
The rest of November on the roads
Dubai Ride on 1 November also uses Sheikh Zayed Road and Downtown, so check RTA’s closures for that Sunday morning too. Across the month, the DP World Tour Championship runs 12–15 November at Jumeirah Golf Estates, the ILT20 cricket season opens on 21 November, and the Emirates Dubai 7s close the month on 27–29 November. Our Dubai events calendar has the full list.
