The World Sports Summit 2026 takes place in Dubai on 28–29 December 2026, the second edition after its launch in December 2025. The 2026 venue hasn’t been announced; the first edition was at Madinat Jumeirah. Expect a VIP crowd moving through Dubai’s busiest holiday week, so book cars with your flights, not after.

The summit is small by Dubai standards (around 1,500 people) but the guest list is heavy with federation presidents, club owners and athletes who travel with an entourage. We plan conference transport in Dubai for events like this, and the hard part here isn’t the summit. It’s the week it sits in.

When and where is the World Sports Summit 2026?

The World Sports Summit website lists the second edition for 28–29 December 2026 in Dubai. As of mid-October 2026 it doesn’t name a venue.

2026 (second)28–29 December 2026 (Monday and Tuesday)Dubai; venue not announced yetDates confirmed by the organiser

The summit is organised by the Dubai Sports Council. The organiser’s report on the 2025 opening put that edition at more than 1,500 participants and 70 speakers, under the theme “Uniting the World Through Sport”. The 2026 site talks about 80-plus speakers and 20-plus sessions.

Until the venue is published, plan as if it could be Madinat Jumeirah again, and keep hotel bookings flexible enough to move. We’ll update this page when the organiser confirms it.

Who attends, and can the public go?

This isn’t a public expo with a ticket desk. The 2025 line-up mixed sports officials with famous names: FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Novak Djokovic, Ronaldo Nazário, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Oleksandr Usyk and Tony Parker among them. The website offers partnership enquiries and a contact form rather than open ticket sales, so assume access comes through an invitation, a partner or a media accreditation.

For transport, that guest list breaks into four kinds of passenger:

  • Principals. Federation and club presidents, ministers, sponsors’ chief executives. They want a first-class sedan and a driver who doesn’t move.
  • Athletes and their entourage. A star rarely travels alone. Agent, security lead, family, a content team. Think SUVs, often two.
  • Staff and media crews. They need to arrive before the principal and carry camera kit, banners and gifts.
  • Sponsor hosts. They move their own guests between the hall, a lunch and a dinner, and want matching cars or a minibus.

Getting to Madinat Jumeirah, if the summit returns there

Madinat Jumeirah is a resort of four hotels (Jumeirah Al Qasr, Mina A’Salam, Dar Al Masyaf and Al Naseem) on the Jumeirah coast next to Burj Al Arab. Each hotel has its own entrance, and conference halls sit inside the resort, so the drop-off point matters. Give us the hall and the hotel name, because “Madinat” alone covers four entrances.

FromDistanceUsual drive
DXB Terminal 1 or 3about 26–27 km25–45 min
DWC (Al Maktoum International)about 40 km40–60 min
Downtown Dubaiabout 16 km15–30 min
Dubai Marinaabout 16 km15–30 min
Atlantis The Palmabout 12 km15–25 min

These are our measured route times from the Burj Al Arab arrival guide, which covers the same stretch of coast. Late December adds time to all of them.

One more thing about Madinat during big summits: in February 2026, the authorities closed the area around the resort to cars without a summit access sticker during the World Governments Summit. That was WGS, not the World Sports Summit, and nothing similar has been announced for December. But if heads of state attend, a cordon is possible, so ask your organiser contact about vehicle access the week before. Our World Governments Summit transport guide explains how that sticker system worked.

Why 28–29 December is a hard week for cars

Dubai in the last week of the year is full. Winter-holiday visitors, family arrivals and New Year’s Eve parties all land in the same seven days. On our desk, this is the week SUVs and V-Classes run out first.

Here’s what we plan around for the summit days:

  1. Airport arrivals on the 27th, not the 28th. DXB is busy with holiday arrivals. Land the principal the day before so the first morning isn’t decided by an immigration queue.
  2. Morning drops before the rush. The Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim roads carry beach and hotel traffic all day in the holidays. An early drop beats a crawl.
  3. Evening plans after day two. The summit closes on Tuesday 29 December. Wednesday is the last normal-ish day before New Year’s Eve, when road closures around Downtown start in the afternoon. If guests stay for 31 December, book that night separately, and early.
  4. One car per principal for both days. Hourly hire (3-hour minimum) or a full day keeps the same chauffeur through sessions, side meetings, a dinner and the airport.

Which car for which guest?

GuestCar we’d suggestNotes
Federation president, minister, CEOMercedes S-Class with chauffeur or BMW 7 SeriesQuiet rear seat for calls between panels
Athlete with family or agentLuxury SUV: Cadillac Escalade, GMC Yukon Denali or Range RoverPrivacy glass and room for four or five
Athlete’s entourage, media crewMercedes V-ClassSix seats and space for camera cases
Sponsor delegation of 10–20Minibus with driverOne pickup from the hotel, one drop at the hall
Gala dinner arrivalRolls-Royce Ghost or CullinanFor the moment on camera, not the daily run

For budgeting, published Dubai rate cards (September 2026) put an S-Class transfer at AED 400–500 and a full S-Class day at AED 1,400–2,500; a Rolls-Royce Ghost runs about AED 5,000 a day. Our all-inclusive price covers the chauffeur, fuel, Salik, parking and VAT.

If a guest flies private, the chauffeur waits at the FBO entrance rather than an arrivals hall; send us the FBO name when you book. For a full delegation, our delegation and VIP visitor checklist covers manifests, name boards and who signs off changes.

We supply RTA-licensed cars and chauffeurs. We don’t provide close protection. If a guest travels with a security team, their lead sets the movement plan and our chauffeurs follow it.

Everything else running in Dubai that season is on our Dubai events calendar.

Frequently asked questions

When is the World Sports Summit 2026?

Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 December 2026, in Dubai. It’s the second edition: the first ran 29–30 December 2025. The organiser hasn’t published dates for 2027, but both editions so far have been held in the last week of December, just before New Year’s Eve.

Where is the World Sports Summit held?

In Dubai. The 2025 edition was at Madinat Jumeirah, the resort next to Burj Al Arab on the Jumeirah coast. For 2026, the official website gives the dates but not the venue yet. Check it before you lock hotels, because the venue decides your drive times.

Who organises the World Sports Summit?

The Dubai Sports Council. The first edition in December 2025 brought together more than 1,500 participants and 70 speakers, including FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Novak Djokovic and Ronaldo Nazário, under the theme “Uniting the World Through Sport”.

Can the public attend the World Sports Summit?

The website doesn’t sell public tickets. It offers partnership and contact enquiries, and the audience is mostly invited sports officials, athletes, sponsors and media. If you’re going, your access will come through an invitation, a partner company or accreditation, so confirm it before booking travel.

How long does it take from Dubai airport to Madinat Jumeirah?

About 25 to 45 minutes for the 26–27 km from DXB Terminals 1 and 3, from a clear road to a normal rush hour. From DWC it’s about 40 km and 40 to 60 minutes. In the last week of December, allow extra on top, and land the day before the summit if your schedule allows.
