The 2026–27 Dubai Racing Carnival opens on Friday 6 November 2026 at Meydan Racecourse and runs 16 race meetings through to March. General admission starts at AED 10. Meydan is about 10 km from Downtown, so a chauffeur or taxi is the easy way there; the return after the last race is what needs booking.

Carnival nights are the regular Friday version of Dubai’s big racing scene: smaller crowds than World Cup night, the same dress code, and company groups in the restaurants and suites. We run event limousine service to Meydan through the season. This is the transport side of a Carnival night: the dates, the gates, what to wear and how to leave.

When is the Dubai Racing Carnival 2026–27?

Dubai Racing Club opens the season on Friday 6 November and lists 16 Carnival meetings from November to March. Three are feature meetings: Festive Friday on 18 December, Fashion Friday on 22 January and Emirates Super Saturday on 27 February. The Visit Dubai events calendar shows the same Friday race nights.

The season then runs most Fridays through January and February to 12 March 2027, and the Dubai World Cup closes it on Saturday 27 March 2027. Our Dubai World Cup guide covers that night separately, because the timings and crowds are on another scale.

The Emirates Racing Authority calendar also lists some midweek meetings at Meydan, such as Wednesday 11 and 25 November. Those are local race days rather than Carnival nights, so check which one your ticket is for.

Tickets, dress code and who goes

Dubai Racing Club’s ticket release puts general admission from AED 10, the Paddock Garden at AED 75 and hospitality packages from AED 345. Season memberships cover all 16 meetings. The crowd is a mix of racing fans, residents out for a Friday evening, and company groups in the restaurants and private suites.

The dress code is the same smart, elegant code used all season. The club’s plan-your-day page says no shorts, sportswear, torn or ripped jeans, open-neck T-shirts, tank tops, trainers or flip-flops. Men wear smart clothes or national dress; women wear modest dresses or skirts of appropriate length. We mention it because if one guest in the car is turned away at the gate, the whole group’s evening changes.

Families: the Kids’ Zone in the Paddock Garden is for ages 3 to 12, open to hospitality guests, and easiest to reach from Gates 3 and 4.

How do you get to Meydan for a Carnival race night?

Meydan Racecourse is on Al Meydan Road in Nad Al Sheba 1. Dubai Racing Club puts it about 10 km from Downtown Dubai, a 10-minute drive from Dubai World Trade Centre and about 20 minutes from Mall of the Emirates. There’s no metro station at the racecourse; the club’s own directions are by car or taxi.

Parking is on site, and the club calls it ample. On normal Carnival Fridays that holds up. Festive Friday and Super Saturday draw bigger crowds, so arrive earlier on those nights.

Drop-off and pickup at the gates

Your ticket tells you the gate. That’s where your car should stop.

  1. Send us the gate printed on your ticket or hospitality confirmation before the night.
  2. Drop-off happens as close to that gate as the traffic marshals allow.
  3. The chauffeur parks on site and waits with the car through the races.
  4. Message 15 minutes before you leave. We fix a pickup point near your gate on arrival, so you walk straight to it.

The common mistake is booking a one-way drop and planning to “grab a taxi” at the end. After the last race, everyone in the grandstand wants a car at the same moment. An hourly booking (three-hour minimum) covers a normal race night with the car on site the whole time.

Traffic and clashes on race nights

Friday evenings in Dubai are busy on their own, and some Carnival nights land on big weeks:

  • 4 December: Friday practice at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix pulls traffic towards Abu Dhabi, and cars are scarce citywide that weekend.
  • 11 December: the last day of GITEX Global at Expo City, which keeps the southern roads busy until the evening.
  • 18 December, Festive Friday: a feature meeting in the run-up to the holidays. Book early.
  • Late November: there’s no Carnival meeting on Friday 27 November, the opening day of the Dubai 7s on Al Ain Road (27–29 November); see our Dubai Rugby Sevens transport guide if you’re doing both.

Our Dubai events calendar shows what else is on each week.
